Marise has practised as a Conveyancer and Notary for over 29 years. Her knowledge and expertise stretch across the full breadth of property and conveyancing — from being closely involved in turn-key developments, through rezoning and planning, across the many disciplines of real estate, to the final stages of conveyancing.
She is best known for structuring a deal around a client’s real circumstances, whether they are self-employed, salaried, or earning from several sources at once.
Her focus is the intricate side of property law, the matters that reward specialised knowledge, handled alongside a team she has built to carry the same standard.

Louis began his career as a practising attorney in 1971, specialising in property law — in particular the intricate work of opening township and sectional title registers, real rights of extension, and the conveyancing matters that go with them.
Louis owns Edenway (Pty) Ltd, a property development company established in 2005. Alongside his client work, he has pioneered many fine development estates as Conveyancer and Developer — more than 3000 units developed and successfully transferred over the past 30 years under his hand.
Well respected within the banking sector and among his clients and colleagues, Louis brings deep knowledge of property law and the management of major developments. He also serves as Legal Consultant to In House Bond Brokers, our sister firm.

Jurene Oakes — Practice Manager / LLB Law (UNISA)
Jurene has been with Marise Hefer Attorneys and our sister firm, In House Bond Brokers, for more than 8 years, and has become a real asset to both. She completed her LLB while working full time, graduating in 2020 despite the disruption of the pandemic. You’ll meet a friendly face and an uplifting voice when you deal with Jurene — always ready to help keep your transfer or bond hassle-free.
